I failed the same exam three times

What happened? I spent three years trying to pass the bar exam. Failed it three times, each time by a handful of points. After the third result I sat in my car for an hour and understood I wasn't going to try a fourth time.
What did it cost me? Three years of evenings and weekends while my friends built their lives. A career I had imagined since I was nineteen. And the awkwardness of telling everyone who kept saying "next time will be the one".
Where am I now? I work as a legal ops manager. It's not the courtroom, but I'm good at it, and I sleep at night. Some of the lawyers I work with are miserable, which is a strange kind of comfort.
What would I tell someone going through the same thing? Quitting after a real fight is not the same thing as giving up. Nobody hands out medals for a fourth attempt that breaks you.
